    Out with the girls.

Went out with Corrine && PX after taking a short nap from work (reached home almost 12 noon, and barely had 5 hrs of rest).

Dined at Waraku Restaurant, and yes, I know we're all Japanese food freaks. That's why we're such good friends. Our sole mission when out: Scouting for Japanese foods. Sashimi. Hot pot. Sushi. And other weird stuffs.

And we sat down at Esplanade - Colors by the Bay, and just sat in random silence for a few moment, just enjoying the music being performed by some random band.

These "eggs" contain various wishes and hopes for the new year from various people. Seriously polluting the waters.

    Skyscrapers.. and more "eggs"

The hybrid which continuously barfs water. (Merlion)

    PX and her PSP.

Corrine taking a pic of the skyscrapers.

And just as to prove that it is really romantic to be by the bay.... Here's a picture:

This is a random pic of a random couple caught snuggling together. It just looks so sweet. I will definitely bring a guy to this area for a date.

And headed to Haagen-Dazs, and got my yummy birthday treat! ICE-CREAM!

Sorry for the really short post... Just dead tired. Post-nights turn me into a zombie really easily.
And I'm still searching for the book: Breaking Dawn...

3 more days to turning 20.
And I just realized it's not so awesome anymore.

the beauty exposed ; 11:43 PM

    3 nights of night done..
The first 2 nights was a total killer. It was beyond horrible. Had to standby a reg for a couple of hours and trying to persuade a patient to be transferred to HD. And the idiot only agreed at 7am... So I ended up leaving my workplace at 8am.. And now, he's transferred to SICU.. That was how serious his condition was.

Anyhow, my last night was a pretty uneventful one, thankfully. And, I got to work with my fave drs (which included the freak dr as well). It's pretty hilarious how everyone realized that the freak is always hanging around me throughout the whole night, and kept bombarding me with a million questions. What's worst‭ is the part whereby he calls me cutie in front of my colleagues. Even my NCs are querying if we're an item. And the answer is NO!

But thing is, I actually kept looking forward to having him as a company the entire night. It's actually not too bad having him around. Maybe, just maybe, I'm starting to have a thing for this freak. Which is very freaky, really. Because, he is nowhere near goodlooking. He's just another plain ordinary guy.. just tall, and quite fair. And idiotic looking. With a creepy smile/smirk. Cartoon voice. Damn skinny. And I should stop describing him. Ha!

Oh no! My personal stalker at work.
He actually enjoy giggling to himself whenever he sees me doing a 'nursing' job. And I will always rant to him abt how horrible drs can be. He explained his point while I explained my point. So now we're trying to compromise. It's just really great to be able to rant to someone abt their particular status and how it's actually making my life miserable.

Anyhow, I'm gonna go. I'm blogging via my cellphone, so excuse typo. I'm actually sitting at the entrance stairs to vivocity now. Just so bored.

    Fuck you, Santa Claus.

    Merry Xmas to all.

What a drag. It just means another year is passing by.... ever so quickly.
Hope you guys had wonder Xmas services, and dinner, and parties, and whatever else.
    And plenty of presents.

    ---

I am just so pissed off at the moment.
If you can't keep a promise, or a vow, or whatever, then don't even bother making it.
Don't even bother saying it out loud and repetitively to me.
When in the end, you're just gonna eat back your own freaking words.
Honestly, if you hated the crowd so fucking much, you won't be out on a fucking Friday evening, and planning to watch a movie.
What is it that you ALWAYS say every time I wanted to watch a movie on a Friday evening at town?
"It's so fucking crowded! We'll watch somewhere else. I don't wanna go to town, it's so fucking crowded with fuckers. Let's go somewhere else not-so-crowded. I can't stand the stupid crowd"
I wish I could seriously make you choke on that sentences.
I will, I repeat, I WILL record down your pathetic little whines and complaints, and make fucking sure you listen to it repeatedly the moment you decided to get on my fucking nerves.
This is not the first time.
This is not the second, either.
    It's the umpteenth time.
You even fucking bother to go to a pub on a fucking crowded evening. When each time I asked you out for a fucking drink, it's fucking crowded! Is it cuz I'm just so fucking popular that the crowd just decides to be out EVERY TIME I AM OUT?
    Yay me.

Honestly, I've had enough of you.
I am seriously debating against the harsh action I am implanting in my head. Let's not get me started....... all over again.

    I need a goddamned break.

Looks like this is another bad ending for another year, and the start of a bad new year altogether.
This is how it is every single fucking year.

    9 more days to 2009

    9 more days.

First thing down: I'm approved to doing permanent nights.
I'm not sure if I'm getting the weekday or weekend nights, I'd leave that for my NC to decide for me. But what I'm sure is that I am approved, and will be starting the cycle by end of January, after I'm back from my leave.
[[Somehow, I'm hoping for weekend nights cuz I have more clique there, rather than weekday whereby I turn pretty mute]]

One resolution down. One commitment done.
I prayed really hard before talking to my SNM regarding my sudden change in mood to work nights (remember the time whereby I turned it down?). She was quite surprised, but I gave her the following reasons:
    - I need a change for a few months. I promise I'll come back to rotating shifts after a while.
    - I noticed that there are always shortage of staff the moment 2 rotating RNs do nights together, so therefore, I am volunteering my service to do the nights.
    - There's a vacancy in both weekday and weekend, I'd rather take it before it's gone.

3 simple reasons and a big big big sympathetic smile, and she simply said 'OK, you're approved'. And then, spoke to my NC, and she approved as well. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Gonna start planning about what to do for all the nights I'm gonna be awake.

    ---

Planning to get myself a pair of Miss Sixty's frames. Or any other brands that are rather nice. Looking for designs like these:

    Or by PlayBoy:

    Or by Vogue:

    Or by Diesel:

    Or by Fendi:

I should stop blabbering about frames now. But I've no idea what to get yet...

But as for now, I am starving.

    And my weird creepy doctor....
Is becoming weirder and creepier. He calls me his 'cutie girl' and I call him my 'tallie doctor'. And yes, he openly calls me 'cutie' or 'cutie girl' or 'babe' in front of my other colleagues. Embarrassing, yes. But what can I do to stop him? Go figure.

    ---

    EDIT:
Review on Twilight (movie): 3 stars out of 5, honestly.
It is not as awesome as the book.
I can't feel the chemistry between Robert Pattinson (Edward) and Kristen Stewart (Bella). The movie pace is too... awkward. Jasper looked damn awkward. Alice isn't all that graceful. Rosalie isn't the prettiest girl ever. Emmett is well.... big. Carlisle is... ok... model-like. Esme is.... well, motherly. Edward's room looks too small. Bella's truck look very grungy. Jacob looked.... well.... not like Jacob. Port Angeles didn't look too fun. The movie gave too many hints about the upcoming werewolves in New Moon (cuz my friends who NEVER read the books could guess that Jacob is a werewolf).
It is just not as awesome.
I just hope for the movie-in-the-making: New Moon would be much better than Twilight (what with the new director and stuff). Let's just hope, ok?

    I've thought about it.
I've never had such a hard time about this.
    About any of these.

For my wish, dreams, hopes of 2009...
First of all -- I NEED TO FUCKING GIVE UP. Day by day, night by night, I keep telling myself I am slowly letting it go, slowly giving up, slowly recovering, that it is nothing but just some fancy dandy shit. But somehow, anyhow, I still find myself shocked shitless whenever I find out something new. But with my recent findings, I think this is the point where I truly give up. *Waves white flag* I surrender. Don't even bother finding me for anything you want.... AT ALL. (cuz somehow, I just can't ignore you, so you should start ignoring me)

Next -- I should commit myself to doing permanent nights for a while. I need to speak to my NC regarding this. I just need a break from the normal world and indulge in the darkness for a while. I need a break. I need to stay away from everyone. And the best way to do it: Being awake while everyone is asleep.

Next -- I need to get serious. About something. Anything.

Next -- I need to stop being so expressionless, emotionless, etc. Like my colleagues describe me, I'm nothing but an emotionless robot. A walking daylight zombie. I don't have any expressions laid upon my face. I don't smile, I smirk. I no longer have any twinkle left in my eyes. I don't even have life in my eyes. I need to start smiling genuinely. Need to start having some life in me. Need to just be a bubbly person. Gawddddd.

Next -- I need to start hating someone. Badly. This is linked to my first hope/dream/wish.

Next -- idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk. idk

People, if you happen to meet me, bump into me, please please be aware that I am gonna be ever so boring. I simply have no more mood for anything at the moment, and I don't know how long it'll last. Do bear with me.

    ---

Need to share a joke at work.
Remember there was this creepy Dr I blogged about a looooong time ago? Bet you don't remember at all.

    Anyhow...
I shall not name this creepy Dr to save his dignity and whatever pride he's got left.
    He is just creepy, ok.

Few afternoons ago, in the evening, him and his colleague came by to set an IV plug for my patient. And me being sooooo ever busybody, wanted to peep and see how they are succeeding in the IV setting. So I just flicked the curtain aside, and pop my head in, and asked:
[[Scenario: Me at head of bed. Colleague kneeling down trying to set a plug. Creepy dr standing behind colleague]]
Me: So, how are you fellas doing over there?
Colleague: I'm still trying.... I don't know how many times I've pricked her.
    Creepy Dr: *chuckle* Very difficult
Me: Ha! Happy trying! Need my presence here for moral support sake? (I always give moral support to fellow colleagues who are attempting to do something difficult)
Colleague: It's OK (my name), you can go back and just finish you work.
Me: OK, you said it. (I look up to smile a 'bye' at Creepy dr)
Creepy Dr: *wink wink wink && grin*
And I just rolled my eyes and walked out.
Creepy Dr: Hey, (my name).... you and me? How? Can make it or not?
Me: Please don't talk to me now, I'm suddenly very busy.
Creepy Dr: Ehh.. I'm asking you something!
    Me: *Ignore*

    Scenario 2. (Happened today)
[[I'm passing over to my afternoon shift girls, and Creepy Dr walks in and stand next to me]]
Me: Stop stealing my files while I'm passing over my report!
Creepy Dr: I'm not stealing anything
Me: Then what are you doing here?
Creepy Dr: Borrowing files *takes one file, and sit behind me and start humming*
Me: *talking to my colleague about something different entirely, and started to resume my passing over when creepy dr starts mumbling pretty loudly to creepy-self. I turned around, bend down and went* SHHHHHHHHHHH! Talk to yourself in your head!!
Creepy Dr: Sorry sorry! I'll keep quiet. *turn his head to face me* If you came closer, we would be kissing.
    Me: Whatever. *continues passing*
Creepy Dr: OK, I'm done. *explain plans for a certain patient* Got it? Alright! *Gave my a light punch to my bicep* See ya later, cutie.
    Me: Owwww, that hurts
Creepy Dr: Really? *rubbed my bicep* sorry!
Me: Excuse me, stop being so touchy-feely with me. Go away already.
Creepy Dr: *glum* Ok... bye cutie
    Me: Whatever..... tallie.
    Creepy Dr: Heh... tallie.

    ---

    Freaky creepy dr.
But this creepy dr is nice. Will do anything I ask. =)

    ---

Funny moment with my colleague, Lina.
[[She was in the middle of opening up her dressing materials, and donned her gloves. I walked in the curtain, stood next to her trolley to just kill time]]
Lina: Eh, kiwi (yes, I was nicknamed Kiwi cuz I called her Banana), help me squeeze the gel into here *points*
Me: *picks up gel tube, unscrew, and realized it's still sealed* How do I open the seal? The cap has no sharp point thing.
Lina: *examines tube I'm holding* hmmmm.... *takes forcep* come... point the seal to me.
Me: *pointing the seal towards her and she starts to try and poke a hole through, and I went: Ugh ugh ugh *and she poked through* ooooh.
Lina: That sounded sooooooo wrong for the people who are not within the area of this curtain
Me: *lol* You're dirty. I'm going, byeeee!

My version of Believe It Or Not

    What are these things?
Are they really real? Or are they just urban legends? Or just plain monsters?

My sister told me about these couple of "things", and I just had to research about it, and then shre about it with all of you.

    Let's start:
    #1. El Chupacabra
Watch the video, and play super close attention towards the end...

Have you guys watched the movie "The Descent"?

Well, I shall assume that you've watched it. And you know, there are such things in the caves called 'the crawlers'.... And this is how they look like:

    Similar enough?

So... what are this El Chupacabra?
It is apparently a creature that sucks on the blood of livestocks, especially goats.
    According to wikipedia:
"The Chupacabra, also called el Chupacabras (pronunciation: /tʃupa'kabɾas/, from the Spanish words chupar, meaning "to suck", and cabra, meaning "goat"; literally "goat sucker"), is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. It is associated more recently with sightings of an allegedly unknown animal in Puerto Rico (where these sightings were first reported), Mexico, and the United States, especially in the latter's Latin American communities.[1] The name comes from the animal's reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. Physical descriptions of the creature vary. Eyewitness sightings have been claimed as early as 1990 in Puerto Rico, and have since been reported as far north as Maine, and as far south as Chile. It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail. Biologists and wildlife management officials view the chupacabra as an urban legend.[2]"
[[Excerpt taken straight off Wikipedia: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chupacabra"]]

Different people have got different ways of describing how it looks. Some says it looks partially human, some says it looks like a dog, etc etc.
So technically, I am unable to share pictures with you, for I get soooo many different pictures when I googled for it... So if you're interested to see on the various looks of the creature, feel free to google for it yourself, yeah?

    ---

    #2. The Goblin Shark
As usual, let's start with a video:

    Freaky, eh?
Like my sister described it: It looked like a shark within a shark.

What's special about this shark is that it is able to protrude its jaws out. The jaws aren't fixed within its mouth! That is why you guys saw the set of teeth coming out to bite.

This thing sure has got a snout, man.

    ---

Imagine what other odd creatures that co-exist with us on this planet....
I bet there are plentiful awaiting to be discovered.
The best place to find: In the deep deep deep end of the sea...

    Silent Night

Just because Xmas is around the corner, lemme share with you my favorite Xmas song of all times.
(I'm just finding an excuse to place the music up, actually...)

It's just so...... classic. I simply ADORE this song for no reasons whatsoever. Maybe because it sounds soooooo darn peaceful. I hum the tune mindlessly at work or whenever I'm so bored. I just fell in love with the song the first ever time I heard it (like over a decade ago).

'Tis the season to be jolly....

    It's December 15th.
2008 is gonna end in another 15 - 16 more days.
And then it's gonna be 2009.
And I'm gonna be 20 years of age.

What are my achievements for the current year? Let's state out the obvious: I've graduated, I managed to land myself a job in a hospital, and surviving up till today (8 months, and still counting...)
What are the not-so-obvious achievements? I don't know. Life has been a little dull lately. Nothing interesting has been going on, hence the lack of topics to blog on.

What are my New Year's resolutions?
Frankly, I have none for 2009. Not to dwell in such crazy thoughts, perhaps. Try to achieve more quality sleep, too. Stop destroying my hair with chemicals. Stop having such a bad temper. Stop getting addicted to drinks. Be more overt, rather than covert. Be more active, rather than passive.

Seriously, I won't even feel the transition phase moving from one year to the other. Sure, the clock strikes midnight, and it's already the New Year. Big deal. I can't even feel the transition phase of me being one year older. It's just like: "Oh, wow, I'm 20.... Big deal".

2009: I can only hope for a better year. Well, that's what I've been saying year after year, haven't I? And how did the year turned out? Well, at least less crappier each year... And maybe all in regards to my growing age, my maturity, and my wiser personality. With more experience, crappy things might just seem less crappier then.

I have no idea what I'm babbling about, honestly.
I feel like I'm living life rather aimlessly now.
Wake up, shower, eat, get ready for work, work, reach home, shower, sleep... and the cycle repeats.
Life has become a rather boring routine. Like, living life on a really tight schedule. Tight, boring schedule..

Hence, tis the season not to be jolly.

    ---

I'm still wondering if I should hurry off to Xin's Xmas musical on the 25th after work... All the way at Aljunied church (Harvest Care Church)! AHHHHHHHHH. That's so far. Still deliberating.

And I'm so gonna splurge. Just bought myself a new bag (yet again) yesterday while out... planning to get new shoes, and new bottle of perfume... and I don't know.. anything else that I see and like. Now's the best time to splurge, since it's the Xmas season with tons of discounts happening everywhere!

And I gotta miss A Vacant Affair's gig on the 26th...
WHY OH WHY DO ALL THE AWESOME GIGS HAPPEN ON DAYS THAT I GOTTA WORK.
And just like A7X, and Taste of Chaos tour... I'm doing NIGHT THAT DAY.
    WHYYYYYYYY THE TORTUREEEEE?!

    Decode.

Been spending the week in HD. Bleahs. My back can break being a HD junior to 10 patients. IDC everywhere. Hourly monitoring everywhere. CVP monitoring everywhere. Diapers everywhere. IV drips everywhere.

    I think my back broke.

Thankfully I've got Vanessa as company. Seriously, both of us could rock HD down.

    ---

I'm actually looking forward to having the never-seem-to-be-happening Mt. Faber outing... It's the second week of December.

I need to start attending outings with my colleagues soon. I seem to always backing off at the last minute... due to some ridiculous reason.

    ---

    I need a drink.
    Badly.
I need to forget certain things.
I need to verbalize certain things.
I need to cry over certain things.
I need to get over certain things.

I've only slept 2 hours since yesterday. I am dead tired, but I know that even if I were to lay in bed at this very moment, I won't be able to sleep.

    Insomnia, people call it.

I took pills, drowsy meds.... anything to make me fall asleep, but still, I lay wide awake in bed, tossing and turning, staring into the darkness, listening to the silence. With a million thoughts zooming in my head. It's all really irrelevant. I'd start remembering certain songs, and my mind will absent-mindedly repeat the playback over and over... then I start remembering certain things I've suppressed... and then it becomes a rather vicious cycle.

Honestly, I don't even know what I'm suppressing. Funny, isn't it?

    ---

And thanks to K for partially getting me my new camera. It may not be the very best, but I totally adore it!

    ---

And thanks uh, people.... for finding me only when you need me and my help.
    Thanks a kerzillion.
Didn't I ever mentioned that I hate leeches like you?

How can I decide what's right
When you're clouding up my mind?
    I can't win
    You're losing sight
    All the time

Not gonna ever own what's mine
    When you're always taking sides
But you won't take away my pride
    No, not this time
    Not this time

    How did we get here?
I used to know you so well
    How did we get here?
    Well, I think I know

The truth is hiding in your eyes
And it's hanging on your tongue
    Just boiling in my blood
But you think that I can't see
What kind of man that you are
If you're a man at all
Well, I will figure this one out
    On my own
(I'm screaming, "I love you so")
    On my own
    (My thoughts you can't decode)

    How did we get here?
I used to know you so well, yeah
    How did we get here?
    Well, I think I know

Do you see what we've done?
We've gone and made such fools
    Of ourselves
Do you see what we've done?
We've gone and made such fools
    Of ourselves

    How did we get here?
I used to know you so well, yeah
    How did we get here?
Well, I used to know you so well
    I think I know
    I think I know

There is something I see in you
    It might kill me
I want it to be true

    La di da...

    Bought the third sequel: Eclipse

    Here's my collection by far:

Apparently, I bought the wrong publisher book for Eclipse, so the cover isn't the same like the previous 2... So I thought, might as well buy the last book with the similar publisher as Eclipse.

And I even got a free gift:

I was like 'huh?' when the cashier produced 4 different notebooks, and asked me to pick 1 I like best... until she told me it's a free gift since the movie will be hitting the theaters soon. So I excitedly picked one at random.

Yes, yes, I know I'm getting a little fanatic regarding this entire Twilight thingy..... but how often do we come across a really nice romance book that includes a vampire who is capable of walking in daylight?

    ---

So, out of boredom, I tried to do some photo-editing with the help of photoshop. I messed around with the random brushes I've got.... and then, I decided to transform a really unsightly picture of mine into something well... more sightly... And here's the outcome:

Sorry for the hair 'extension'... that one looked so fake, I know.
I actually made my eyes bigger. Removed all the ugly smile 'lines'. Add eyelashes. Gave myself a bit of blusher, and gloss. Removed eyebags. Made my nose sharper. Defined my jaw.

If you've seen the original picture, you'd know the hard work I've put in. Lol.
So lesson is: NEVER EVER take a picture of me when I'm drunk. I look like a dumbfuck (in regards to the original picture). Lol.

    Pretty, ain't I?

    ---

And I watched Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist... and it was amazingly good! It's totally cute.
Go watch it when it comes out next week, okies? It's a must!
