Movie Review + Random updates.
I've been back from KL for about 3 days now, and I really wish my AL won't end.
I loved it there (there wasn't any vast difference from being in Singapore, so what the heck...). The weather was hot and humid, the people there were different, the food there are awesome.
I think most of the money I brought along with me were spent on food. Seriously. I loved the hotel room... loved the bed the most! It's like, the moment I put myself in that bed, I fall asleep instantaneously! It's like magic! I bought 5 t-shirts, a couple of undergarments, a bottle of perfume, an eyebrow pencil, a furry hot pink pen... and that's it! The rest were on food! Oh, and the movie theater there... Awesome! The seats were beyond awesome! Comfortable, and not forgetting, bloody cheap!
So, being back in Singapore, I am glad I haven't gotten any calls regarding the coroner's case yet. I sure as hell hope it's settled, or whatever.
On a lighter note, decided to catch a movie yesterday:

Not knowing what the movie is about, I thought it was a spoof movie... like the SuperHero movie of that sort. Oh, I was wrong about it... so wrong. The movie had its hilarious parts, but mostly, there were lots of gore! There were lots of blood, lots of assassination going on, lots of slaying, stabbing, and guns, knives, etc. It was helluva fun!
Would I watch the movie again? Oh, hell yes! When it's out on DVD, though. No way am I gonna pay for another ticket to watch on the big screen. It's a dead-on interesting movie about how normal, ordinary people become superheroes. No kyrptonite, no mega spider bites. Just ordinary people.
Go watch it!

On a totally random note, I am super glad Glee is back to finish off the rest of their season!

What a way to ruin my AL.
Today's my first day of AL, and I was pretty hyped up about it.
But it just HAD to be RUINED.
Was called back by my SNM at about 2pm, asking me to head back down to the ward to settle a complain. I tried bargaining for it to be done tomorrow, but since she persisted on it being done by today, I headed down. There was a reason why I was bargaining for it to be done tomorrow. Obvious enough, employers can't be fucked about their employee's welfare.
And it took me 3 solid hours to complete the shit.
Apparently, there was a coroner's case involved.
I happened to be the one taking care of the patient the night he turned bad, went to High-Dependency, and subsequently, SICU.
I had to write up a bloody long report on the details occuring to the event of that particular night. And how I wish this incident only took place last week... It took place 7 fucking months ago. SEVEN.
Obviously, most of the memory recalled are rather vague. But since it's a coroner's case, I have no choice but to dig up my memory and recall every single event for the night. Now would be the best time to get a hypnotherapist. They are much much better at digging up stuff that are long forgotten.
I think I did print out the report close to 8 times or so... It was rejected one after another, because it was too brief, not detailed enough, no specific timings, no outcome to intervention done, etc. SPECIFIC timing? SERIOUSLY? I can barely remember what I did specifically at work 2 nights ago. For fuck sake!
Finally, I was pissed off, and handed off the final report which was thoroughly detailed to the point where I don't know what other details there could be. I told my SNM that I would be out of the country for a couple of days, and she told me that I had better have auto-roaming and to pick up ANY calls from the ward. She also told me to be on my guard and PREPARE for a court case.
What a way to reassure your employee.
So, people, never ever ever have a coroner's case to deal with, especially if your patient's relatives are big time fuckers who just happened to be "poor" enough to not be able to pay the hospital bills (and hence asking for a waive by pointing out all these shit and hanging a person's license by a thread), but "rich" enough to engage a lawyer to threaten and sue.
Fuckers.
Also, just a heads up for all of you on night duties...
DO NOT WRITE ANYMORE SKELETAL REPORT.
I was told today that my night duty report SHOULD be as long as my report for the coroner's case. It was one bloody page long, type-written with Times New Roman font sized 12.
I was also told to ink up in my report any callbells and enquiries attended to, to indicate the time.
Also, I know how we on night duty tend to write the previous day date despite writing the report at 2am the following morning... DO NOT DO THAT ANYMORE. You'll just get yourself a smack on the shoulder by your SNM. Just write the DATE of the day you are writing that report.
Any medications, treatments, requests by the patients, WRITE THEM DOWN. Any doctors called, WRITE THEIR FULL NAMES, rank, and SPECIFIC time (inclusive of seconds, if possible).
If patient seem odd to you, CALL THE DOCTOR. If seem really odd, skip all the way to the REGISTRAR. Don't even bother calling the HO and MO because HO and MO can only do such as much. Registrar are much better... or better still, just call the consultant who is sleeping soundly at home and you're just gonna get screwed with yelling over the phone.
Also, if you've given any special meds (Maxolon/Odansentron for nausea or combating PCA Morphine's SE) - INK IT UP in your report, and have a follow-up report on it.
Any minor dressing changed - ink it up.
Seriously, every time you see your patient, ink it up.
I swear next time, I'll video-record it ALL down.
P/S: All those above mentions about INKING it all up was told by an NC. Shall not name her.
On my final note:
JUST WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN, IRREGARDLESS IF ITS EVEN APPROPRIATE AT ALL.
I am so resigning after June.
Off to my job hunt.

Movie reviews.
Movie review #1:

I love love love how this movie has Kirsten Bell AND Josh Duhamel in it. That's a major plus point!
It's a really sweet, romantic movie, which kinda inspired me to visit Rome some time before I die. And to collect coins from the Fountain of Love.
It's a definite must-watch movie. It's hilarious, romantic, and cute all at the same time.
I am not gonna spoil this movie for you, because you simply just have to watch it.
Overall, I'll give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Movie review #2:

This was a remake of the 1981 movie of the same name:

Although it wasn't the EXACT same remake, it was, well, about Greek mythology, no less. Of course, it just won't be right to compare the two movies alongside each other, because the 1981 version will definitely lose out (in terms of digital enhancements, sound surrounds, etc).
I watched this in 3D, but it was to my disappointment. I highly doubt there would be much of a difference watching the normal version of it. Actually, watching the normal version would be much better... since the 3D glasses do make the screen look darker, and the ticket costs a lot more.
I enjoy the fact that Sam Worthington is in the movie (remember Jake from Avatar?). I love the CGI effects in the movie. I like how the storyline goes. I just don't like how they alter the story about who created the Kraken (in the 1981 version, it was Poseidon. In the 2010 version, it was Hades. Confusing, isn't it?). Also, I've always thought the Kraken was a giant, colossal squid, but in both versions, it was some huge monster (think Godzilla) with multiple limbs.
I like the fact that they've designed Medusa nicely, with a really pretty face (instead of all scaly and snake-like as in the 1981's). I don't know, there are some believers who say that Medusa was a priestess in goddess Athena's temple, before she was cursed for sleeping with Poseidon in the temple. Some said she was all along a monster. You decide.
Overall, I'll give this movie a 4.5 out of 5. I just love the CGI effects, and the humor they managed to slot into the movie. Love it.

Brief update:
I'll be on leave in a week's time (that's 4 more working days to go), and I can barely wait for it!
I just can't wait to go on a mini trip, and go shopping!
Also, that would also mean I can make my monthly haul blogpost soon!
Anyhow, I've been addicted to this series for a while:

It's onto the sixth season (and I'm only done watch the third).
It's comical, funny, hilarious, a total comedy.
IT IS A GOOD SHOW TO WATCH!
I've never failed to laugh at each episode. Go watch it, seriously.
And don't you all just like it that Neil Patrick Harris is in the show?! Being a homosexual, I've to give him lots of credits for kissing girls in the show, and ALSO for being a womanizer in the show. Ironic, isn't it?
Just go search online and watch one episode, it will make you crave for more.
I've sit through 6 hours of watching the show non-stop once.
So that's about it.
Till the next entry.
